Question: Where to install the WaterCop Classic Motorized Actuator Lead Free Water Valve, .75 In.?

Answer: Indoors, on the main incoming water line. Install the valve upstream from where the water system branches off to other appliances and downstream from water meters and pressure regulators. Do not install outdoors! Install the WaterCop valve so that the home or business owner can readily access the face of the WaterCop actuator. That way the system can easily be reset if tripped by a moisture sensor. Also the water can be shut off if repairs need to be made to a water heater, etc. The business or home owner should periodcally cycle the valve to open and close to prevent any water deposit build-up. This ensures proper operation. Also make sure the valve does not interfere with water flow to fire suppression and irrigation systems.

WaterCop actuators can respond to an almost unlimited number of moisture sensors. Do remember that a signal repeater may be necessary for sensors located far from the unit. The maximum transmission range is up tp 200 feet, clear line of sight. Actual effective working range is less than that. The WaterCop is a whole house or zoned water shut off full port ball valve with actuator that responds to radio signals from moisture sensors (waterhounds) or freeze alert sensors (FreezeHounds. Water shuts off almost instantly when sensor/s are activated and an alarm sounds at that sensor/s. AC powered or battery powered sensors have 1 or 2 moistures probes. Install sensors under water dispensing refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
